Bring Your Own Alcohol (BYO) Policy
HOC Licenced Area
The Home Owners Association Liquor Licence area is displayed on the bar bench top. In general, the licenced area covers most the clubhouse including the verandah area, and the bowls club rooms.
The following policy applies to the consumption of bring your own (BYO) alcohol in the HOC Liquor licence area.
No BYO is allowed while the bar is open.
During the times that BYO is allowed, it is only permitted in the Games Room, Veranda, wine room, and main function area of the main clubhouse, and the bowls club. In addition:
- For groups greater than 20 persons the Bar Manager is to be given the opportunity to open the bar to service the group’s requirement, in which case BYO will not be allowed.
- The group must provide their own glasses and utensils
- The group must ensure the clubrooms are left in a clean and tidy condition and all rubbish has been disposed of appropriately. Cleaning materials are located just inside the swinging doors to the kitchen area and rubbish and recycling bins are located behind the roller door external to the clubhouse near the bridge to the Bar-B-Que pavilion.
The Home Owners Committee reserves the right to vary this policy at any time in the event that the amenity and cleanliness of the clubhouse is impacted adversely by this policy.
Barbecue Pavilion
The Bar-B-Que Pavilion is not part of the HOC Liquor Licence area. Therefore, the area is subject to BYO rules set by the Site Owner. The Site Owner’s rules are as follows:
- GemLife consents to BYO alcohol at the BBQ pavilion. The Resort Management will provide the necessary facilities to ensure that glass/plastic bottles and/or other alcohol-related packaging, can be safely disposed of by home owners after use. In the event that GemLife’s consent is abused (rubbish which could cause harm to others, people becoming intoxicated and/or acting in a way which undermines their safety or the safety of others), GemLife will revoke its consent.
- GemLife is sufficiently covered with respect to holding the necessary insurances to cover BYO alcohol for the BBQ pavilion.
- If the HOC intends to hold any events/functions which incorporates the use of the BBQ pavilion, then it too must hold the relevant insurances on its own policy that would allow BYO alcohol to be consumed in this area.
With respect to the last point of the Site Owner’s rule. The HOC does not intend to hold/ host any functions in the Barbecue Pavilion. Additionally, Home Owners are reminded that the Barbecue Pavilion reservations can be made on the appropriate booking sheet located in the notice board area of the clubhouse.
